Points West Living Slave Lake Assisted & Independent Living
PWL Slave Lake is a two storey continuing care project based on the Eden Alternative. Situated on landscaped grounds, it consists of a mix of 45 Designated Supportive Living spaces (including 13 studios with Memory Care) and 7 rental suites for Independent Supportive Living. A pathway and small bridge connects PWL Slave Lake with the Vanderwell Lodge next door. Shopping, restaurants, and convenience stores are nearby. The project’s layout consists of two cottage wings of thirteen residents each per floor. Each cottage is based around a common kitchen, living and dining area that provides a comfortable home like approach. Large, main floor courtyard spaces and a second floor patio gives residents direct access to the outdoors. A spa and hair salon are on site. Residents are encouraged to partake is recreation programs and socialize with family, neighbours, and friends.
Based on a nearly identical building in Cold Lake but updated, PWL Slave Lake is a template for future projects of a similar size in other parts of the province.
