At the outset of this deceptively simple brief, RPK challenged our studio to explore the typology of a park pavilion building. We pushed ourselves to think of the additional benefits an amenity building could provide year-round. The options we created explored ranged from the whimsical (such as a bird watching promontory / sledding hill) to the practical (such as a small platform for outdoor performance).  This exercise helped the client arrive at their ideal solution, which celebrated the vernacular of the surrounding agrarian built form – and our firm had a bit of fun along the way.
